Ministry of Economy Joins with ABA to Promote Digital Economy Development

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Economy and Finance signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ABA Bank on "Cooperation within the Framework of Digital Economy and Financial Technology Development in Cambodia”, in line with national, regional and global policies and trends.

On 26 April 2023, the Ministry of Economy and Finance hosted the signing event which was attended by Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth (Minister of Economy and Finance), Dr. Kong Marry (Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee), ABA CEO Askhat Azhikhanov, and the managers of associated financial institutions and insurance companies.

Today's MOU aims to promote and develop the digital economy and financial technology in Cambodia by promoting and expanding cooperation through sharing knowledge, experience and training, using digital enablers, and supporting activities and programs, both financially and non-financially.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has worked with ABA Bank in the past in the field of digital and financial technology. Today’s MOU will serve to expand cooperation as well as further promote development of Cambodia’s digital through improved technologies.
